Kindermusik Philosophy

Kindermusik's philosophy is founded upon rigorous research and our fundamental beliefs:

• Every parent is the child's most important teacher.
• Every child is musical.
• The home is the most important learning environment.
• Music nurtures a child's cognitive, emotional, social, language, and physical development.
• Every child should experience the joy, fun, and learning which music brings to life.

In a Kindermusik class, educators lead a group of parents and their children through joyful activities, using music and movement. Parents learn more about their child's unique developmental process, and the shared learning experience creates a unique bond as the child associates learning with fun, musical play. The learning process continues at home, guided by specially designed books, CDs, and games.

Getting to know Dione

Dione is a stay-at-home mom, who left her career in Social Work in order to raise her children, Julien 9, Miguel 6 and Parise 3 years. Having taken Kindermusik classes with her oldest son, Julien, she discovered a program that not only helped him blossom his own self esteem, but also permitted her to be totally focused for 45 minutes only on her son, without interruptions. She was saddened when her Kindermusik teacher had to give up her classes. In searching for a program to do with her second son, Miguel, she decided to study to become a Kindermusik Educator herself and offer this same experience to others. She soon discovered that having a love for music and a background in Social Work were going to be important assets for her new endeavor. She completed her training in July 2006, to become a licensed Kindermusik Educator and is proud to be able to offer a bilingual program in her community.
